Most pages (including the ones at the Microangelo site) are created using the WYSIWYG web development tool. WYSIWYG, or What You See Is What You Get, is a handy feature for non-designers. With it they can edit the HTML (and CSS, at least if they aren’t using WYSIWYG editors that use different file formats), and preview the changes without navigating away from the page. The only trouble is that designers don’t always know what WYSIWYG is doing. If you attempt to turn off the feature the tools often don’t behave as expected, so you can lose any editing that has been done in the original files.
Date picker
Using DatePicker to get the birth day and month of any friend is cheating, but Microangelo makes this trivial with a single click. Simply click any table cell and you’ll get a date picker with a drop-down list showing the date range that you clicked. Nice!
A few enhancements have been made to Microangelo’s Save dialog, as well as an option to always save the page when you exit, rather than just when you exit a preview area. It’s pretty much the same dialog as you would expect.
Microangelo’s new On Display 5.0 is essentially an enhanced version of On Display 4.0, with several new features and options. These include the ability to shrink or expand the preview window while keeping the icon the same size, the ability to move the mouse over the preview to fire a link or hotspot which will send a mail to the person who created the preview or turned it on, and the ability to generate HTML-only previews. Its best use is as a preview tool that can be turned into a stock photo.
